Steamroller is a cybernetic villain and enemy of the Teen Titans.

Character historyHow Steamroller came to be a cybernetic monster remains unrevealed. He originated from Steel City, where he was captured and brainwashed by Brother Blood into aiding him in his plans. By attacking a steel mill, Steamroller attracted the attention of the newly formed Titans East. After some initial blunders (which was due to a serious lack of team cohesion), the Titans managed to bring him down with Cyborg's assistance, but not before Steamroller had used a probe on Cyborg to obtain the security codes for the Titans East Tower.

Later, Steamroller was recruited by the Brotherhood of Evil, who were planning to bring down young superheroes all around the world. When the Brain decided to execute its plans, Steamroller, Overload and I.N.S.T.I.G.A.T.O.R. succeeded in capturing the brothers Thunder and Lightning. However, when the Titans mounted a counterattack on the Brotherhood's base and managed to free the Titans already captured, Steamroller was overpowered by Red Star and flashfrozen along with the majority of the assembled villains.

Powers and abilities

Due to his cybernetic nature, Steamroller possesses superhuman strength and resilience to damage, including the ability to survive entrapment in molten steel. His name comes from two metal cones encasing his hands, which he can join to form a roller in order to pin down opponents.

Appearances

Trivia

  • Although Steamroller hasn't spoken in the series and no voice actor's been credited for voicing him, he's heard growling when Brother Blood has him in chains.
  • Throughout Steamroller's return in the fifth season, his eyes are strangely still red (they can be seen when he captures Pantha or caught by Red Star). His eyes were briefly normal, after Thunder blasted him. It is unknown whether the Brotherhood of Evil brain-washed Steamroller or it was an accidental error.
