Slade is the archenemy of the Teen Titans, wanting them destroyed for his own unknown reasons. His face (mask) was first seen when he used Thunder and Lightning to make a fire man which attacked the city. Before Slade had been little more than a shadowy figure seeking the Titan's destruction and Robin's apprenticeship. He seems to have similar fighting skills to Robin's and wants Robin on the side of evil. Slade has a cunning and decisive personality. Combine this with his superior fighting skills and you get a formidable opponent willing to destroy the Titans at any cost. He also has a powerful robot army at his disposal.
Relationships
Slade has had at least two known apprentices throughout the series. One was Robin; the other was Terra. He also formed an alliance with Raven's father, the demonic and devil-like Trigon, and, therefore, then made Raven his primary target.
Theories
Some believe he is Batman due to the similar way of fighting this is unlikely since Batman, the dark knight, is a warrior of good.
