Pre-Teen Titans

Before joining the Teen Titans, Robin worked with Batman. Through the years of working with the Dark Knight he was greatly trained physically and mentally.

Joining Teen Titans

Robin met up with Beast Boy, Cyborg and Raven when Starfire came to Earth and started destroying the city. Robin helped Starfire get free from her chains, who then flew away. Robin and the others teamed up to find her, and later fought the aliens who came to find and imprison Starfire, shortly after defeating them, Robin gave the others communicators, and later created the Teen Titans and became the leader.

Teen Titans

With his fellow Teen Titans, Robin encountered Slade, the mastermind villain who is Robin's arch-rival. To defeat him, Robin became his alter ego, Red X, but Slade outsmarted Robin and he nearly lost his life. Later Slade made Robin his apprentice, threatening that he will kill Robin's friends with nanoscopic probes if he refused. Having no choice, Robin joined Slade and committed many crimes in his favour, until finally he teamed up with his friends to bring the villain down.

Afterwards, the Titans met Terra, and Robin recruited her into the team. Soon after, she betrayed the Titans to Slade and was revealed to be his apprentice. In the end, Terra realized her mistakes, and fought against Slade, knocking him into molten lava and sending the evil mastermind to his doom.

In the third season of the show Red X returns, and this time it's not Robin in the suit. Instead of wanting to cause chaos and destroy the city, this Red X only wants Zinothium (a chemical that powers his suit) and to be "number one". Robin takes the blame on himself and goes out to stop X personally. Eventually he is brought back to the lair of a new villain, Professor Chang, and aids Robin with defeating him and freeing the rest of the Titans, though he doesn't take himself as an ally and escapes.

Also in the third season, Robin had been questioning Slades death. While fighting Cinderblock during a rainy night, Robin is separated from the other Titans and spots Slade. After chasing him down, he learns that Slade had planted three seismic generators that could very easily destroy the entire city. The other Titans eventually meet back up with him and they all split up. While wandering around the forest with Starfire, Robin sees Slade yet again and has a small face-off. In the end, it seems that Robin can only see him. Robin then decides to go solo and hunt by himself. We then see him in Slade's old hideout which self-destructed when Robin's apprenticeship twords him ended. After examining the remains, Robin has a quick talk with Slade. He's convinced that he had been using cloaking devices and fights him soon after. During the melee, Robin fails to touch him once. The four Titans track him down to the base, and finds him there, hurt and angry. None of them had found any generators, but Robin doesn't listen to them. After threatening his friends, they have no choice and knock him out. Robin is held down by restraints back in the tower, but eventually escapes after Slade reveals himself in the medical ward he's in. Raven enters his mind where we see him taking to oath to Batman and two figures falling in a circus. After being punched out, Raven discovers that Slade isn't there, but Robin believes so and it's destroying him. When it seems like his final moments were coming to an end, Robin figures out that it was all in his mind, he turns on the lights in the basement and Slade disappears for good. It turns out that a chemical agent in the dust Robin accidentally breathed in made him see, hear, and feel Slade despite the fact that he wasn't there. The figure who activated the chemical agent is still at large.
