Fear Itself
Fear Itself is the 18th episode of the Teen Titans series and the fifth episode of Season 2.
Synopsis
Inside a video rental store, the Titans confront a new "archnemesis" by the name of Control Freak. At first this new villain seems no threat - until he uses his remote control to turn several furnishings and miscellaneous items into monsters and sends them against the Titans! These monsters get the drop on the Titans at first, but then Robin cuts up the store's fire sprinklers, macerating or short-circuiting all living implements and Control Freak's remote. Beast Boy loses no time recovering a new - and by reputation very ghastly - horror movie, "Wicked Scary", from the mess and presenting it to his fellow Titans. The movie proves to be extremely ghastly - so much in fact that even a hard-boiled mind such as Raven finds herself unnerved; but she refuses to admit such to the others.
Terror on the loose
Later in the night, however, a cry summons the Titans to Ops. Then the lights suddenly go out, and then appears the monster from Wicked Scary, ready to devour them all. The Titans fight but end up helpless against it, and to her horror, Raven finds herself unable to use her powers. She runs at the monster, but it bats her aside and suddenly vanishes into thin air, leaving the Titans perplexed. They decide to comb the dark Tower, and all the while Beast Boy keeps jibbing Raven that she must be afraid, which Raven hotly denies. But each time she says so, one of her teammates is snatched and vanishes: first Beast Boy, then Robin is dragged off by shadowy tentacles; Starfire is buried under a horde of demonic rats in the basement, and finally Cyborg also disappears without warning.
