Control Freak's remote is an enhanced television remote control used by Control Freak as the source of his powers.
Description[]
The remote is designed with a monster head at the front, flashing when the remote is activated. It has only one button.
The remote has the ability to turn inanimate objects into sentient beings. It can also teleport entities into or out of the television realm. Within the realm, the control can be used to summon television characters or switch to another channel.
It is shown in "Fear Itself" that the remote can be shorted with water like any other remotes.
History[]
The remote was first used in "Fear Itself", where Control Freak fought the Teen Titans in the Video Dome. Many objects from large television screens, to a DVD shelf, to a samurai cardboard cutout, to candy were animated. These objects were later shorted out by fire sprinklers, along with the remote itself, with the remote being kept in the evidence room of the Titans Tower.
In "Episode 257-494", a large variant of the remote was reprogrammed in Cook's Electronics to allow Control Freak to enter the television world, wrecking havoc from channel to channel.
In "For Real", Control Freak teleported himself into television with the remote, sulking over his first defeat to the Titans East. He would later use it to moderate the Titans East's Ultimate Challenge. Following the success of the challenge, the remote was snatched away by Más y Menos.
A vehicle variant of the remote was seen in "Revved Up", where it was used for a race to retrieve Robin's briefcase. It was eventually destroyed when Red X stuck adhesives onto Control Freak's and Mad Mod's Big Ben car, causing both to collide onto one another.
