Teen Titans Season 5
8/10 I don’t know what the general consensus is about this season. I’ve seen some say it’s the best or it’s the worst, but for me personally I liked it just fine, albeit with a few issues.
Plot: The fifth season revolves around Beast Boy and his past with the Doom Patrol and the Titans fighting the Brotherhood of Evil.
Positives:
1. The Titans were decent; Beast Boy was good too, but I feel he wasn’t developed as much as the other Titans in previous seasons.
2. The voice performances were amazing.
3. The Brotherhood of Evil were good villains; their plan of eliminating the youthful superheroes across the globe and obtaining Titans Communicator by Madame Rogue shapeshifting to different heroes was fantastic.
4. The serious episodes were better than the comedic ones, particularly Go and Lightspeed, for the character development and depth.
5. Titans Together was a phenomenal episode that brought back villains and heroes from previous episodes for an epic battle resulting in the Titans getting 50 new honorary members. If anything, I would’ve preferred this being the season finale than the one we got.
Negatives:
1. The Doom Patrol was bad; honestly, I found them boring as characters, and they didn’t do much for me.
2. The finale was bad. While it was nice to see Terra again, the episode abruptly ends without leaving a proper conclusion.
Overall, Season 5 was great. I liked seeing all the characters throughout the series return and the Brotherhood of Evil, but that’s about it. The season felt rushed, and the finale was infamous for being left on a cliffhanger and not resolving any loose plot threads. Despite this, I still prefer Season 5 over the first season for offering more in entertainment and storylines.
